May 5/07: Set lyrics uploaded On Thursday, May 3/07 I played on stage for thie first time in my scattered career as a singer/songwriter.  Open Mike with Maria Kastaan at the Lakeview Restaurant 8:30 pm on Thursdays (1132 Dundas St. W./Ossington) The Lakeview is pretty unique in Toronto. It is nearly all in it's original 40's state as you can see.  This is what you might see when you walk in the east wing but all the folk can be found in the west wing where the stage is.  See? And yup that's me and the back of Maria's head.  Well for a first time it came off pretty well except my pickin hand had a serious case of stage fright in the first set. The second set fared much better cheered on by the support of Marie, Maria, the other musicians there, the staff and the customers that didn't leave. (I would like to think that they were planning to leave anyway) 1st set: I Got the 8 Bar Blues Red Rocket Roll 2nd set: Wintertime Talking Nakina Blues Night Trains So next Thursday I'll give it another crack until my pickin hand smartens up or the chef throws a tomato. A great experience none-the-less. |
