Sculpture
Originally, we began making mostly functional sculptures from old standing lamps, table lamps and ceiling chandeliers to create candlesticks and torchieres. We mixed parts from different styles, turned them  side-to-side and top-to-bottom, upside-down worked most of the time, and screwed and bolted them together. Mostly they have become part of the Artists' Private Collection as a result of dismantling our lighting fixtures.

The next stage of sculpture development was the use of the same materials that we were using for the  jewellery, and a few of the pieces are somewhat functional yet decorative sculptures, such as the 'containers' and 'display' types. From this came the series, "The Power of Three".

The pieces that are purely decorative use primarily salvaged sheet copper. It was our good experience to have found a large quantity of copper flashing soon to be on its way to the dump! Most inspiring because we have been keeping our eyes open for over 15 years for copper sheet, even just small pieces that might be scattered around construction sites. The most current work from this material is a series called "Other Civilizations - Other Cultures"

It is good to see the resurgence of copper in commercial and residential architecture, and more so in landscaping. The "Great Copper Heron" was commissioned for a garden and is the first of many works to come.
